You and Your Healthy Body

The average person consumes 16 different foods or beverages a day. This means we have 16 opportunities to improve our health for the day and consume the thousands of nutritional elements that our bodies need to perform at peak levels.

Nutrients can work alone but are better in the whole form as food, (carbohydrates, fats and protein) and micro nutrients (vitamin and minerals), as nature provided for us. Macro nutrients produce energy and repair the body while micro nutrients activate enzymes, which are proteins that act as catalysts to speed up biological reactions that take place in your body. The body produces certain amounts of vitamin D and K but all other nutrients come from your food or supplements.

Nutrients from food are absorbed by the body as it passes through your digestive system:

  • For cell growth, maintenance and repair.
  • Nutrients provide energy to enable your body to function efficiently.
  • Nutrients, along with fibre and water, are essential to your good health.
Healthy body equals healthy, younger looking skin.
