Sensitive eyes.

The delicate skin around the eyes is often one of the first areas to react to a new product or experience a flare-up, leaving the skin itchy, flaky or red.
So, why is the eye area so sensitive?
The skin around our eyes is the thinnest on the whole body, with no sebaceous (oil) glands and minimal elastin fibres, meaning it is harder to regulate the oil balance and pH of the skin.
Since this skin is so delicate and potentially temperamental, the products we use here are more important than anywhere else, so stay away from the alcohol-based eye makeup remover!
Alcohol is a common ingredient in many eye-makeup removers and is a real no-no for sensitive types, as it strips, dries out and sensitises the skin.
Instead, try using a detergent and alcohol-free Cream Cleanser that you can either massage into the eye area during cleansing or use with a cotton wool pad. Watch this video to see exactly how to do it.
What about Eye Cream?
One of the questions I’m most often asked is, “Do I really need to use an Eye Cream?” Simple answer – yes, but it’s all about how you apply it.
As the skin around the eyes is so different to the skin on the rest of your face, you need a slightly different formula to effectively treat and target this area.
Our Eminence Herbal eye cream is packed with wonderful ingredients;
·        Jasmine Flower Petal: carotinoids, Vitamins C & P, nourishing agent
·        Bioflavonoid: enrich, nourish and moisturize the skin
·        Corn Germ Oil: Vitamins E & F
·        St. John's Wort: anti-wrinkle, nourishing
·        Marigold: soothing, hydrating
·        Biocomplex: an antioxidant booster of Vitamin A, Vitamin C Ester, Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10,         Alpha Lipoic Acid
When it comes to daily application, apply a small amount to the contour area around the eyes using a gentle tapping motion. Try not to pull the delicate skin around the eye area. Gently pat a small amount along the orbital bone (it starts at the top of your cheekbone) using your ring fingers, in an anticlockwise direction.
As the eye area doesn’t have any sebaceous glands, it ‘draws’ the Cream from lower down, taking in the amount of hydration it needs.
Avoid applying Eye Cream to the fleshy, under eye area – as it can lead to puffy eyes and potentially even milia, particularly if you have oily or combination skin.

If you are suffering from flaky or dry skin closer to the eye or on the eyelid, you can also apply a small amount of our Herbal Eye Cream to soothe and hydrate the area.
