Shiny healthy
hair – here are some tips on how to achieve it.
Shiny
hair is always healthy hair. Remember if your tresses are dry and lacking in
moisture it is always going to look dull. Make sure your hair is properly
hydrated by using a hydrating shampoo and conditioner or products specifically
formulated for dry or dull hair.
Just as
you would use a face mask on your skin, I recommend that you use a hair
treatment or mask on your hair once or twice a week is a great way to get
healthy, shiny hair. To apply the product, shampoo your hair using your regular
shampoo then dry your hair slightly so that it is still damp, then apply the
hair treatment to the ends of your hair. Leave the product in for 30/60 minutes
and then rinse with warm water and style as normal.
Chemical
treatments such as bleaching/ straightening etc dries out your hair and can
lead to hair breakage. Hair oil treatments are a great means of putting
moisture back in to your hair.
When
using natural oils as a deep-penetrating conditioner, you can leave the oil on
for several hours or for 15/30 minutes depending on your busy schedule.
Coconut,
jojoba and argan oils work nicely as rich nourishing conditioning treatment.Hair
oils help encourage hair growth.
Start by
detangling your hair with a wide-tooth comb. Then warm a ¼ cup of your favourite organic
oil for 30/40 seconds in the microwave – remember never let the oil overheat or
bubble or burn as this causes the oil to become a bad oil. The oil should be
just warm to the touch, not steaming hot. Work the oil in to dry hair, using
the pads of your fingers; apply the oil little by little to different parts of
your scalp, parting your hair as needed. Also work some oil along the length of
your hair. Then, using the pads of your fingers, work the oil into your scalp,
using circular motions. Slow, deliberate movements are relaxing while steady
but vigorous movement helps enhance energy and circulation. Then wrap a warm
towel around your hair and wait 30 minutes before rinsing. Put in the shampoo
before you wet your hair to absorb the oils and wash your hair as normal.
Do you
suffer with an Itchy scalp? Coconut Oil is the perfect cure! The high fat
content in coconut oil gets absorbed into your skin to instantly soothe
irritation and rid dryness.
