Skinceuticals CE Ferulic

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic is a product that helped to solidly put the Skinceutical range of products  on the cosmoceutical map.

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic was the first product to use L-ascorbic acid and vitamin E together.

Topical application of vitamin C has been found to:

·       Protect against UV-induced erythema and sunburn (boosts UV protection);
·       Increase skin firmness (increases fibroblast production of collagen);
·       Scavenging of free radicals (reacts with the superoxide anion or the hydroxyl radical);
·       Suppressing pigmentation of the skin (by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase);
·       Decomposing melanin;
·       Preventing the loss of collagen (decreases matrix metalloproteinases in the skin).
L-ascorbic acid is the most common form of vitamin C used in skin care.
Skinceuticals CE Ferulic contains 15% L-ascorbic acid.
The second is that L-ascorbic acid is absorbed into the skin for up to 72 hours after application (Cosmetic Dermatology).
Close the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic tightly after each use, and store it in a cool, dark place, out of direct sunlight.
How-Antioxidants-Work
The real beauty of a vitamin CE serum is the combination of vitamins C and E together. Vitamin C and vitamin E are network antioxidants that have been found to synergistically enhance the power of one another (Cosmetic Dermatology).
Vitamins C and E as L-ascorbic acid and tocopheryl acetate have also been reported by Djerassi et. al. to prevent the formation of cancerous compounds, called carcinogenic nitrosamines.

Vitamin C and vitamin E have also been shown to enhance the photoprotective effects of sunscreen, as vitamin C has been reported to enhance UVA protection, whereas vitamin E is more effective against UVB radiation.
